WHAT EVERYONE IS SAYING
If you haven't travelled with us before, here's what some of our guests are saying...
“The tour offered by Mint is one of the best investments I have made in myself. I walked away from the tour with new snowboarding skills, an incredible circle of friends and confidence in my ability to achieve whatever I set my mind to. I look forward to joining another tour offered by this company soon.”
“Moments that can’t be put into words and people that I won’t forget. I started with Mint Women Japan in 2018 and have done 4 more tours as well as another (half, due to Covid19) tour to Austria. I’ve had the best time with the Minties over 3 continents in 3 years.”
“For a female snowboarder looking to progress in a supportive environment with the best female coaches, there is nothing that even comes close to the Mint Women’s week. The stoke is high on and off the slopes, and I can say that I’ve made friends for life on every tour I’ve been on. How could you not, when you’re surrounded by women who love snowboarding as much as you do, and who definitely want to have fun, eat yummy food and have a delicious cocktail or two. Or more. No judgment. I can’t wait to get shreddy again!”
“I’ve been on 6 Mint Tours over the last couple of years and cannot recommend the company highly enough. The owners are lovely and all the coaches and guides that I’ve had are both knowledgeable on the slopes and great company at the pub at the end of the day.”
“You will not regret having a Mint Tour Guide when hitting the slopes in Japan. They know the mountains and will take you to spots that you simply didn’t know existed. Forget the busy slopes, you’ll be hitting back and side country and sometimes you’ll just be cutting through the thick trees right in the middle which open up into the powder stash of the trip. Having a guide who knows when to bail on a run is also worth it’s weight in gold. Cutting out to the right after the tower, versus a 45 min walk out, across a stream, that ruins your mood and your day… priceless.”
“I can’t thank Mint enough for saving my Japan holiday. I booked my tour last minute when my friends cancelled on our pre planned trip. I had already booked flights, so it was just a matter of finding a tour. I did my research but most tours were aimed at advanced/ extreme boarders, or skiers (no thanks) or park rats. The girls camps I found were aimed at beginners or the younger park and party crowd. Although I’m a young 37 and enjoy being social at night I’m going to Japan to board, not tour the bars. I ended up finding Mint Chicks through a friend and I’m so glad I did. I’ve found my people. Everything was taken care of and thoughtfully planned. The hotel, the snow, our coaches, the food and of course the girls. This was my first tour but it won’t be my last. Next time Canada. Love you guys!”
“I wanted to improve my snowboarding but I got so much more. I have been snowboarding for 10 years but have never had a lesson. My riding improved after the first day. My coach Rachel was knowledgeable, experienced and she genuinely cares. The video analysis and one on one feedback was a game changer for me. I’ll be going back next year.”
“If you are looking for a women’s snowboarding trip put Mint Women on the top of your list. I had been considering going for 2 years and finally decided this was the time. My expectations were exceeded at every turn. The coaches were amazing, the accommodations gorgeous, the food excellent, the resort beautiful, our small group of women inspiring, supportive, fun and adventurous. Every day was challenging, every moment was enjoyable. Mint has created a very special environment and selected only the most skilled educators to bring it to fruition.”
“5 stars.. I can’t thank the girls at Mint enough. The friendships I’ve made and the skills I’ve learnt are life changing.”
“I just got back from the Japan and had the most incredible time. From our first day drowning in powder to our final day owning the trees. We learnt, we laughed, we fell over, we got back up again and had the best time doing it. A massive shout out to my coach who hiked uphill so many times to save me when I was stuck in powder. All the coaches were amazing. They knew when to push us and when to hold back if they could tell that our energy levels were getting low. Their experience made the difference and I think this was the main reason we all progressed so much. I feel confident with my snowboarding now and can’t wait for my next tour with my new Mint snowboarding family. Their tours should come with a warning, HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!”
“I just wanted to say thank you for another epic trip. My leave application is already submitted for Austria! See you in 6 weeks!”
“Thanks for another great week in Japan. I think what sets Mint apart is the variety of locations and the coaches and pros you get to come along. Both times I’ve come I’ve found it attracts such nice guests who I really get along with which was one of my main worries when signing up on a solo basis.”
“An amazing adventure!! Cannot thank Ris and all the amazing instructors enough – all are so positive, full of the joy of snowboarding, laughter and life. Never made learning so much fun. An opportunity to meet some amazing women, make new friends and be empowered. Looking forward to next time!
“From the second you arrive the Mint team are there to welcome you and make sure you have an epic experience. The hotel and resort is next level. Great food, spacious and comfortable rooms, knowledgeable and fun owners who immediately make you feel at home. Daily coaching including former pro Rach with the snow piling up every day, it’s the stuff dreams are made of. Rach’s tips, video analysis and endless encouragement make you a better snowboarder by at least tenfold from when you arrive. The coaches are relentlessly upbeat and all the other activities make for a jam packed week. So much of visiting a place comes down to the people too and Rach, Ris and the crew are quite possibly some of the most awesome and welcoming people on this planet. The accommodation, food, shred, company is all beyond top notch, and I can not recommend them enough.”
“I just returned from Japan and feel like I will view my life as pre/post Mint. The experience was transformational. I had been on an all-girls tour in Japan before with another company and it was a disorganised mess from the moment we arrived. So I was hesitant to book another tour. But I am so incredibly happy that I found Mint. The booking process was so easy and no question was too much trouble. The coaches are inspirational and patient and funny and wonderful. The attention to detail that they provide is inspired. I went in thinking it was a one off tour but the friendships I made and fun I had will ensure that I go back. If you are thinking about, do it.”
“This was my third Mint Tour, but my first ‘Mint Chicks’. I can’t speak highly enough of this company. The experience was so memorable. Thanks to Ris and the team.”
“To put it simply. Awesome experience, awesome people, awesome destinations. Just do it! “
“I am so glad I took the chance and sign up for Mint Chicks! I was nervous to go by myself but that worry was alleviated immediately. I was greeted by an amazing group of strong, adventurous, snow loving women and made some great friends in the process. Don’t be worried about going alone.”
“Their tours truly caters to all levels. Being an intermediate level snowboarder who lost her way, I came home excited to get back to snowboarding more often at my local resort. The coaches are supportive, knowledgeable, encouraging, inspiring and just amazing women. The hosts went above and beyond to take care of every detail and every person. I will absolutely be back in the future!”
“Get yourself on a Mint Chicks tour – there’s nothing more empowering than hitting the slopes with a crew of girls. Whether you are starting out or you’re an old rider you’ll find a Mint Chicks trip that is right for you and you’ll have an absolute ball. Cannot recommend highly enough!”
“Mint have created a very special place for women to progress. I can’t rate this trip highly enough in terms of their team, the snow and you can tell they take great care in choosing their locations. I felt safe and well looked after at all times, which was important for me as I have never gone on a trip before by myself. Having our coaches on the mountain all day with us was ideal and the thrill of snowboarding in powder with a bunch of like minded women was amazing. Staying at the resort was ideal as there was no travelling needed after spending a day on mountain. The yoga offered each day was another bonus. I was able to tick all of the boxes for what I needed from this holiday which was really important having waited so long for a break like this. Thanks girls for a trip of a lifetime. I have come away, refreshed, empowered and have gained my confidence back on the mountain.”
1) Improve or recover your technique
On all our Mint Women tours you will learn new skills that will make snowboarding more fun and allow you to do more fun stuff, on more of the mountain. Alternatively, you might not have been snowboarding in a while and need a refresher to get the hang of it again. Or maybe you’ve always looked enviously at other snowboarders ripping powder or nailing tricks in the park. Join a progression tour and with a little coaching, that could be you!
2) (Re)Build your confidence
Maybe last time out you got hurt and want to rebuild confidence, or you’re with a group of friends and you’re worried about holding them up. Join a tour and you’ll not-only rebuild confidence, you’ll always be riding with a group of similar ability. On our tours you will be hosted, coached and held up at all times by an all-star lineup of inspiring women. Our priority is to find you the best snow and terrain and give you the tools to become a better snowboarder in an incredibly positive and supportive way.
3) Fast-track your knowledge of a ski resort
Sure, you could cruise around the resort with your friends and try to figure it out in your own time but why not get all the answers on day one? Answers that can often be make or break for a snowboarding holiday. Whether your idea of a good time is getting to all the secret powder stashes, avoiding the lift lines, finding the best side hits in the area, finding the best spot for marshmallow-whipped-cream hot chocolate, an under-the-radar spot for a banging lunch or an epic photo spot for the ‘gram, again – our coaches and guides will give you a locals perspective from day one and keys to the city.
4) Stay Safe
Maybe you love to go off piste or are keen to get into the backcountry. In order to do this independently, you need to be intimately aware of snow conditions and ensure you and your touring party have the knowledge, training, skills, equipment and experience to do this safely. If there’s any doubts, join one of our tours where you will be led by qualified guide who has been out in the hills all winter and knows exactly how it is right now and where to find the best snow, safely.
5) Delegate your trip planning – join a tour!
We know how it is – trying to gather a group of friends together for a holiday, co-ordinating annual leave, trying to come up with an itinerary that fits everyones needs, dates, travel arrangements, travel styles etc. It can be a headache even for the most organised trip planner! Offload that headache – join one of our tours and let us take care of every detail from booking to boarding. Or come solo and make some new snowboarding buddies!
6) Learn from professional coaches
All our tours are hosted by professional snowboard coaches who will help to build your confidence, skills and help reduce the risk of injury, plus make your rate of progression much faster. You’ll also refine your technique and iron out any bad habits which can be difficult to get rid of once they are set in. Our coaches will also ensure you are learning on the right equipment for your level and that it is set up correctly and specifically for you. The trained, eagle eyes of our coaches will give you individual feedback to help you on your snowboarding journey.
