JAPAN SNOWBOARD TOURS
Tohoku Freeride Tour $POA
Get off the beaten path and ride at Japan's little-known, stash-laden resorts in Tohoku with Swedish snowboarder Kevin Backstrom and our local guiding team. We base this tour in Morioka city, which gives us access to numerous resorts in the region. With a flexible tour itinerary, our guides will keep a sharp eye on the weather and snowfall and drive you to the best resort daily. Don't expect lift lines where we're going. You will be riding all these areas mid-week, which means you'll virtually have the resort to yourself.
Japan Project $POA
Japan Project is based at Kiroro. THE snowiest major resort on the planet, and you’ve got two guides on-hand who know a thing or two about hunting down the best lines, finding the best snow, and making sure you have a good time while doing it. In fact, you could call them professionals. Your guides for the tour are Eero Ettala and Heikki Sorsa, and they have just one goal for the week – to find you the best POWDER!
Mint Women Japan $POA
If you want to improve your snowboarding and learn how to ride the deep powder that Japan is famous for then this is the tour for you! It doesn't matter if you haven't ridden (or even seen!) powder before. With our daily coaching sessions you'll be confident to ride, even on the deepest days!
Hokkaido Storm Chaser $POA
Spend a week chasing Winters biggest storms with our expert local guides & pro snowboarders Shinya Nakagawa & Gaku Nagai. Our base for this tour is Asahikawa city where we can access the resorts and backcountry zones in around the Dasetsuzan National Park, including Asahidake, Kurodake, Tokachidake, Kamui and Furano.
Aizu Freeride Tour $POA
Travel with us to Aizu - an area that is blessed with lots of snowfall, no crowds and very little western influence. Throughout the tour, our guides will show you why this region is one of our favourite places to ride in Japan. We'll take you to the best areas each day for powder riding, and there are loads of spots to choose from and barely any competition for the fresh powder. The areas we stay have amazing onsen, great food and friendly locals.
Niseko Freeride Tour $POA
This is a powder hunter tour where you'll chase the big winter storms in Hokkaido. Spend 6 full days riding up to 11 resorts including Niseko, Rusutsu, Kiroro, Moiwa, Sapporo Kokusai, Teine, Tenguyama & Asarigawa. Your guide will decide on riding spots each day based on weather and snowfall. This flexibility ensures that we'll find the best snow and conditions all day, every day.
Myoko Freeride Tour $POA
This tour is based in Myoko, but we have access to over 9 resorts in the region. With a dedicated guide and private transport, you'll be ahead of the pack and into the waist deep stuff while you explore the surrounding resorts, including Madarao, Tangram, Lotte Arai, Seki Onsen, Kuriohime, Suginohara, Akakura Onsen, Akakura Kanko, Ikenotaira and Togakushi.
Tomamu Freeride Tour $POA
Tomamu is a freeride heaven with advanced and expert level tree-riding and off-piste riding allowed! Take it up a notch and head into the backcountry on a cat ski day where powder stashes are a-plenty. Located in central Hokkaido, Tomamu has all the bells and whistles of a luxury ski resort but with the added bonus of receiving some of the lightest and direst powder snow in Hokkaido.
Japan Powder Retreat $POA
Our Mint Women are headed to Japan's snowiest luxury 5 star resort, Kiroro! If you want to improve your snowboarding and learn how to ride the deep powder that Japan is famous for then this is the tour for you! It doesn't matter if you haven't ridden (or even seen!) powder before. With our daily coaching sessions you'll be confident to ride, even on the deepest days!
Kiroro Freeride Week $POA
Up your game and get freeride tips from our pro coaches and guides while riding at Kiroro - the snowiest major resort on the planet. It’s Japow on steroids. Sure, there’s plenty of other places in the world that get their fair share, but the 23 metres that Kiroro scores on an average season, is a step-up again. This coastal resort gets slammed with clockwork consistency. Kiroro receives more snowfall in a month, than most resorts receive in a full season.
Minakami Freeride Tour $POA
Minakami is somewhat of a well-kept secret from the masses. It's renowned for receiving massive amounts of snow and it’s generally of great quality thanks to elevation and a favourable aspect. One look at mighty Mt Tanigawadake is enough to realise it has incredible alpine terrain options only limited by your skill, fitness and the conditions. The backcountry here is as good as it gets in Japan.
Lotte Arai Freeride Week $POA
Spend a week riding at Japan's most luxe 5-star resort, guided by Freeride World Tour athletes Erika Vikander and Michaela Davis-Meehan. Arai is close to the coast so it receives plenty of snow with 21 metres last winter! And the terrain won't disappoint either with 70% of the resort left un-groomed and there's 10 avalanche controlled backcountry zones with over 1000 meters of vertical. It's locally known as Japanese Whistler, but without the crowds. Enjoy!
Niseko Progression Tour $POA
This tour is aimed at intermediate snowboarders who want to improve their snowboarding. While you are exploring the Niseko United Resort area and the nearby resorts of Rusutsu and Kiroro, your qualified coach will give you tips and feedback along the way. Our coaching sessions are structured so that you'll learn the skills to confidently ride off-piste, in the trees, in deep powder and variable conditions.
