This winter, we’ve lined up a luxe retreat in Wanaka for our New Zealand Women’s Snowboard Tours! The focus of this tour is progression, so we’re headed to Cardrona for 5 full days of coaching and guiding. Like all Mint tours, there will be a focus on good food and great company. We’ll spend our days on the mountain and evenings enjoying great food and drinks in the company of new friends. Here’s what you can expect:
SNOWBOARD COACHING For intermediate riders. We’ll turbo-charge your progression with a huge 5 days of snowboard coaching. Our qualified coach will find you the best terrain to level up.
LIFT LINE PRIORITY Lift lines can be a drag, but you’ll be able to lap the resort like a pro with lift line priority for all our coaching and guiding sessions.
LUXE RETREAT Our private accommodation has everything to make your stay as relaxing as possible. After all, who isn’t in need of a little RnR right now?
OFF-SNOW FUN Spend your days snowboarding with our coaches and your afternoons and evenings visiting Wanaka’s winery’s, snowboard shops, boutiques and our favourite locally owned restaurants with our hosts.
SMALL GROUPS We take just 6 guests on tour. Our small groups allow greater manoeuvrability and ease of access to the best experiences a destination can offer.

SNOWBOARD COACHING
As part of the tour, you will spend 5 full days with our qualified coach and ex-Olympian, Juliane Bray. Juliane is on-hand to make the progression fun and to provide individual feedback. We will ride to the conditions, and change the plan and pace to suit. We keep our group size small and take a maximum of 6 ladies so you can get the most out of the sessions. All our coaching sessions are conducted on terrain suitable for progression. Minimum of 5 hours of group coaching per day.
ABOUT WANAKA
Our home base is magnificently located on the shores of Lake Wanaka, just an hours drive from Queenstown International Airport. Our location gives us easy access to Cardrona – our favourite resort in the Southern Hemisphere. We have our 4WD vehicles on standby to shuttle you to the resort daily. For anyone wanting to get their powder fix, we have an optional heli-ski day where we’ll make your powder dreams a reality!
LUXURY ACCOMMODATION
We make sure all our guests stay in comfortable accommodation that’s in the best location. We have single and twin share rooms available in our luxury house, located just a stone’s throw from both the lakefront and Wanaka’s shopping, restaurants and bars. We have a gorgeous kitchen that is fully equipped to prepare breakfast and afternoon snacks. Every bedroom boasts 2 comfortable single beds. bathrooms all have the luxury of instant and endless gas hot water. The bedrooms have been carefully furnished to create a warm and cosy atmosphere. Heating throughout the property ensure you stay cosy on those frosty winter evenings.
OPTIONAL HELI-SKI DAY
For any guests wanting to experience the thrill of heli-skiing in New Zealand, we will have an optional heli-ski adventure. Whether you are a first time heli skier or a savvy veteran, your mind will be blown by the mountains and the snow quality. There is a huge amount of terrain that we can access and our guides know how to find whatever it is that you are looking for, ensuring that every guest is smiling. We’ll be able to choose from open bowls, low-angle powder, ramps, couloirs, glacier runs, and New Zealand steep faces. We’ll ride in alpine terrain (no trees) and on glaciers. The terrain we ride will suit the ability level and pace of our group.

We keep our group size small (maximum of 6 riders) for a more personal experience between our guests and guides. This ensures you get the most out of your time with us, and keeping the groups small means less time waiting and more time riding!
SOLO TRAVELLERS
If you’re travelling solo you won’t be alone. In fact our camp is perfect for solo travellers, we just match you up with someone to room with for the entire time. Not only are our coaches and guides with you on-mountain during the day, they keep the stoke going well into the night, so you’ll always have crew to hang out with and places to go.

WHAT IS A PROGRESSION TOUR?
Our Progression Tours will improve your snowboarding through a combination of coaching and guiding. These tours are perfect for intermediate snowboarders who have limited experience riding off-piste or in the park. Our qualified coaches will offer you tips and feedback as you explore the resort. Our coaches have an in-depth knowledge of the resorts we visit, which gives you the ultimate advantage.
WHAT HAPPENS ON ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE DAY?
Once you’ve signed up for the tour we will send you through a comprehensive guide with details about the tour including the arrival and departure day process, a map of where we meet, recommended arrival and departure times, flight options, Visa requirements and transportation information.
WHAT IF I’M TRAVELLING SOLO?
About 99% of our guests are travelling solo, so you’ll be in good company. If you are travelling solo, you will be paired with another guest to room with. The accommodation for this tour is twin share i.e. 2 beds per room. Your group will be made up mostly of solo travellers. Our groups generally mix well due to a shared interest in snow sports and an eagerness to explore all that New Zealand has to offer.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ON THIS TOUR?
Each tour is different, but we know that by offering one of the smallest client to guide ratio in the industry allows you to ski or snowboard at your preferred pace, and ultimately leads to a better experience for everyone. We have a maximum of 6 people on this tour. This ensures you get the most out of your time with us, and keeping the groups small means less time waiting and more time snowboarding!
IS THIS TOUR RIGHT FOR ME?
If you are looking to progress your snowboarding then yes, this tour is for you! Our coaching sessions are perfect intermediate riders, and you will always ride with like-level snowboarders. Our women’s tours have been designed by women who ride, for women who ride. We know you need guidance, practice, time and encouragement in the company of like-level riders.
WHICH MOUNTAINS WILL WE VISIT?
We visit Cardrona Alpine Resort for all our coaching sessions. If you are joining us for a heli-ski day we will ride a variety of mountains in the Southern Alps with terrain ranging from open bowls, low-angle powder, ramps, couloirs, glacier runs, and New Zealand steep faces. We’ll ride in alpine terrain (no trees) and on glaciers. The scale, vastness and beauty of the Southern Alps is awe-inspiring.
CAN I ARRIVE EARLY OR STAY ON AFTER THE TOUR?
For most tours you can arrive earlier or stay later. We can tailor the trip to suit your travel plans. Speak with one of our tour specialists when you are booking and they will be more than happy to assist.
WHO ARE THE GUIDES?
All of our tours are guided by friendly, knowledgeable and expertly trained guides who are passionate about the mountains. Most of our guides work for us season after season.

DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?
Yes. All guests on tour need to be covered by comprehensive travel insurance. Once you have booked on the tour, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. We offer all of our tour guests discounted snow specific travel insurance.
WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I’VE BOOKED?
Once you’ve booked your spot on tour, we will send you through a booking confirmation and provide updates about the tour including the arrival and departure day process, a map of where we meet, recommended arrival and departure times, flight options, Visa requirements and transportation information. We will send out a Pre Departure Guide 30 days prior to departure. Prior to the tour commencing we will invite you to a group chat which is managed by your tour manager and guides.

The best way to check if a tour is suited to your ability is by speaking with one of our tour specialists. They will be able to determine if the tour you have selected is a good fit for your ability, as well as suggesting other tour options.
HOW DO I GET TO WANAKA?
We’ll provide you with a guide with details on how to get to Queenstown Airport and where to meet your hosts. If it’s your fist time to New Zealand or if you’re unsure about travel arrangements, often we can link you up with other tour guests to travel with.
HOW DO I CHECK AVAILABILITY?
Speak with one of our tour specialists. As this is a small group tour with limited availability, it’s best to get in touch early to avoid disappointment.
ARE LIFT TICKETS INCLUDED?
Yes. A 5 day lift ticket valid at Cardrona Alpine Resort is included in the tour price.
CAN I RENT EQUIPMENT?
Yes! We can arrange rental equipment for most destinations, however we do recommend bringing your own equipment.
WHAT EQUIPMENT SHOULD I BRING?
Snowboarding in New Zealand is like nothing else. Expect all kinds of weather and snow with temperatures typically ranging from +10 to -10. We recommend that guests have a good quality waterproof jacket and pants, lightweight insulated layer, merino base layers, merino gloves and waterproof gloves, goggles with low light & high light lenses, sunglasses, balaclava, beanie, and helmet. We recommend that all guests bring their own snowboarding equipment for the tour (board, boots, bindings & outerwear).
