Alaska Snowboard Tours
Alaska has always been on the top of every serious snowboarder’s bucket list. Real big-mountain terrain, a stable maritime snowpack, more heli operations than ski areas and the promise of riding the best lines of your life. And then there’s always the bragging rites of riding in AK. Plus, just over an hours drive from Anchorage you’ll find Alyeska, Alaska’s only purpose-built resort. The place definitely lives up to Alaska’s steep and deep reputation with it’s epic snowfall and challenging terrain. The double black diamond runs on the North Face are a match for anything found anywhere in the USA, there’s plenty of diverse terrain with a number bowls and gullies. Across the lower slopes are glades, while higher up you will find nice open slopes and well groomed trails. The resort is serviced by a modern lift system that’s spread across a series of slopes that begin at almost sea-level. Alyeska has largely been left alone by the masses, so lift lines are usually non-existent. A huge plus for this resort is not only its great snow record, with average yearly dumps of 20m, but also the fact that you can ride deep powder in early and late spring. Alyeska is also our base for our Alaskan heli-ski tours with Chugach Powder Guides. If you are looking for the ultimate heli-ski adventure, this is the place to go.
