FOR INTERMEDIATE SNOWBOARDERS

This tour is best suited to intermediate snowboarders. If you’re confident on most groomed runs and starting to explore off-piste and treed terrain, this is the ideal trip to take your riding to the next level. You’ll spend three full days on-mountain with a highly qualified snowboard coach in a small group of just five riders, so you’ll get plenty of one-on-one feedback and personalized tips throughout each session. With lift line priority the entire trip, you’ll spend less time waiting and more time lapping, learning, and progressing.

WHITEFISH MOUNTAIN RESORT, MONTANA

Tucked into the northwest corner of Montana, Whitefish is one of those places that hits all the right notes—laidback town, big mountain, and deep, consistent snow. The ski area sits just outside Glacier National Park and catches over 25 feet of snow every season. Cold temps and wind-loading keep the snow soft and rideable, even days after a storm. Whitefish Mountain Resort is packed with terrain that’s perfect for progression—wide-open bowls, flowy tree runs, long groomers, and plenty of playful features to keep things interesting. It’s easy to explore, but big enough that you’re always finding new lines.

A TYPICAL DAY

After breakfast, you’ll meet your guide and make the short drive up to the resort. With your coach and guide leading the way, you’ll spend the day exploring Whitefish Mountain—chasing good snow, riding off-piste lines, dipping into the trees, and soaking up the unreal views. Along the way, your coach will be giving you real-time feedback and tips to help dial in your riding. After a full day on the mountain, it’s back to the hotel to relax and recharge—maybe hit the hot tub—before heading into town. Evenings are all about good food, cold drinks, and checking out Whitefish’s local bars and restaurants for a proper taste of Montana.

COMFORTABLE ACCOMMODATION

Throughout the tour, you’ll stay in a modern, well-appointed hotel that strikes the right balance between comfort and convenience. The location is spot-on—close to downtown Whitefish and an easy drive to the mountain. Rooms are warm, spacious, and set up with everything you need to unwind after a full day of riding, including plenty of space for your gear. Expect comfortable beds, cozy bedding, and all the essentials to make your stay easy. The hotel also features a heated pool and hot tub—perfect for soaking tired legs—and a relaxed lobby area if you just want to chill out. A basic breakfast is included each morning, so you’ll be fueled up and ready to go. Single rooms come standard, with twin-share available on request.

SMALL GROUPS

We keep our group sizes small—maximum five riders—so you get more personal attention, real-time feedback, and tailored coaching. Whether you're building confidence, refining technique, or pushing into new terrain, your coach has the time and space to focus on your riding and help you progress at your own pace. Smaller groups also mean more flexibility. We can move quicker, access better terrain, and adapt to conditions without the usual delays. And while the crew is tight, the vibe stays social. It’s big enough to share the stoke, swap stories, and ride with like-minded snowboarders—but small enough to keep things personal, focused, and fun.

PRE-TOUR SUPPORT

From the moment you sign up, we’re here to help you get ready. You’ll receive pre-tour emails with everything you need to know—arrival and departure details, where to meet your guide, what to expect on the mountain, and what to pack. We break it all down so you’re not left guessing. Whether it’s your first snowboard trip or your tenth, our team is here to make sure you’re feeling prepped and confident before you arrive. Have questions about gear, logistics, or the itinerary? We’re just a phone call or email away and happy to help.

Itinerary

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL DAY

Welcome to Whitefish. Hop on the airport shuttle from Glacier Park International Airport and head to the hotel. Check-in opens at 4:00 PM, but if you arrive early, you can store your bags, stretch your legs, and explore town at your own pace. Once checked in, take some time to settle into your room, unpack, and get your gear dialed for the days ahead. In the evening, you’ll meet your guide for a welcome session covering the plan for the trip, gear checks, and the latest snow and weather updates. Then we’ll head out for a welcome dinner at one of our favorite local spots—good food, good vibes, and yep, we’ve got the tab covered on the first night. It’s the perfect way to meet the crew and ease into the Whitefish rhythm. Most guests join solo, so expect an easygoing, friendly start to the week.

DAY 2 – 4 – GUIDING & COACHING

You’ll spend the next three days riding at Whitefish. Each day will follow a similar format:

Mornings – The breakfast buffet is open from 6:00 am and you can enjoy breakfast at your leisure. Your guide will advise the departure time the evening before which is typically around 8:00 am. Each morning your guide will explain the weather and snow conditions for the day and advise the group where you’ll be riding. Load the shuttle and head to the resort.

Throughout the day – You’ll spend three full days on the mountain, combining guided laps with focused coaching sessions designed for intermediate snowboarders. Your coach will provide real-time tips and feedback to help you progress. The coaching is hands-on but relaxed—it’s not about drills or standing around, it’s about riding together, learning by doing, and making the most of every lap. With lift line priority included, you’ll skip the queues and spend more time where it counts—on snow. Your coach will tailor their advice to your goals, helping you build confidence, improve technique, and ride more efficiently across varied terrain. Because we keep the group size small, there’s plenty of one-on-one time to ask questions, try new things, and get direct feedback. You’ll also benefit from your guide’s local knowledge—finding the best lines for progression, discovering mellow tree runs, and hitting spots you might not find on your own. By the end of the trip, you’ll be riding more confidently, tackling new terrain, and having more fun on your board.

Evenings – After a full day on the mountain, take the shuttle back to the hotel and kick into recovery mode. You’ll have time to unwind—soak in the hot tub, chill out in your room, or grab a drink with the crew. Each night, your guide will organize a group dinner at one of Whitefish’s great local spots. It’s a chance to swap stories from the day, share a few laughs, and settle into the rhythm of the trip before calling it a night.

DAY 5 – DEPARTURE DAY

Enjoy one last breakfast at the hotel before checking out. We’ll arrange your shuttle back to the airport, say our goodbyes, and send you off with a few more turns under your belt—and maybe a plan to come back next season.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS A PROGRESSION TOUR?

A Progression Tour gives you the best opportunity to build your skills and grow your confidence riding powder, navigating trees, and working toward exploring backcountry terrain. Throughout the tour, you’ll be riding with an experienced and qualified snowboard coach who knows the resort inside out and will match the terrain to your ability and goals. You can expect to spend time riding off-piste, including in the trees, so it’s important that you’re comfortable with the idea of riding in varied and ungroomed terrain. While we always aim to find the best snow and most suitable zones for progression, conditions can vary—and guests should be prepared to ride in everything from storm days to bluebird laps.

BUDGETING FOR THE TOUR

An estimate of spending money for the week is around USD $250 – $350 to cover lunches, dinners and snacks. Here’s an indication of what you can expect to pay for meals and activities:

  • All lunches – expect to pay USD $15 – $25 per meal
  • 3 dinners – expect to pay USD $30 – $40 per meal

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO BOOK?

It’s hard to estimate when the tour will fill up. That being said, this is a small group tour with a maximum of 5 riders, so our advice is to book as soon as you’ve made the decision to travel. That way you can secure your preferred travel dates and you won’t be disappointed. Bookings close 90 days before a trip departs, however most tours typically fill up well before this.

FITNESS

The best way to get the most out of your Mint experience is to build a bit of pre-trip fitness. You don’t need to train like an Olympian, but a solid base of endurance will go a long way. You’ll be riding three full, consecutive days on snow, so your body should be ready for it—especially your legs and core. Having the strength to ride all day and the cardio to keep a steady pace will help you stay sharp, recover faster, and enjoy every lap.

WHAT HAPPENS ON ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE DAY?

Arrival and departure days are off-snow. Once you’ve signed up for the tour you will receive a comprehensive guide with details about the tour including the arrival and departure day process, instructions on flights, where to meet, gear list, recommended arrival and departure times, visa requirements and transportation information.

WHAT IF I’M TRAVELING SOLO?

Traveling solo? You’ll have your own private room for the tour—no sharing required. About 99% of our guests join solo, so you’ll be in good company. Our groups tend to mix well thanks to a shared love of snowboarding and a mutual stoke to explore everything the destination has to offer. Whether you’re here to progress your riding, meet new people, or just enjoy a change of scenery, you’ll feel right at home. If you’re traveling with a partner or friend, twin rooms are available on request. Just let us know when booking.

CAN I ARRIVE EARLY OR STAY ON AFTER THE TOUR?

Yes, pre or post tour accommodation can be arranged. We can tailor the trip to suit your travel plans. Speak with one of our tour specialists when you are booking and they will be more than happy to assist.

ARE FLIGHTS INCLUDED?

No, flights aren’t included—but we’re happy to help. To get to Whitefish, fly into Glacier Park International Airport (FCA) in Kalispell, Montana. It’s the closest airport to Whitefish and is serviced by major U.S. airlines with daily connections through Denver, Salt Lake City, Seattle, and other hubs. The airport is just a short drive from town, and we’ll arrange your transfers between the airport and hotel as part of your tour package.

DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?

Travel insurance isn’t required, but we strongly recommend it for all guests. It’s a smart way to protect yourself in case of unexpected changes or disruptions. We suggest purchasing a comprehensive policy as soon as you’ve booked your tour—ideally one that covers trip cancellation, medical expenses, evacuation, baggage loss, and other unforeseen events. It’s a simple step that offers peace of mind before and during your trip.

WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I’VE BOOKED?

Once you’ve booked your spot, you’ll start receiving updates to help you prepare for the trip. This includes details about arrival and departure day logistics, a map of where to meet, recommended flight times, and transportation options. If you’re traveling from outside the U.S., we’ll also provide guidance on visa requirements and how to check if you’re eligible for the Visa Waiver Program. About 30 days before the tour, you’ll receive a comprehensive Pre-Departure Guide with everything you need to know to get ready.

HOW DO I CHECK MY ABILITY LEVEL?

The best way to check if a tour is right for your ability level is to speak with one of our tour specialists. They’ll help determine whether the tour you’re interested in is a good match and can suggest other options if needed. We’re here to make sure you’re booked on a tour that suits your skills and goals—so you get the most out of your time on snow.

HOW DO I CHECK AVAILABILITY?

To check availability, get in touch with one of our tour specialists. This is a small group tour with only 5 spots available, so we recommend reaching out early to lock in your place and avoid missing out.

CAN I RENT EQUIPMENT?

We recommend bringing all your own gear for this tour, as rentals are not included. If you need help finding rental options in Whitefish, let us know and we’ll point you in the right direction.

WHAT EQUIPMENT SHOULD I BRING?

Whitefish can be seriously cold in winter, so it’s important to come prepared with the right gear. We recommend dressing in layers suited for riding in cold and variable conditions. You’ll need a high-quality waterproof jacket and pants, insulated mid-layers, merino base layers, merino and waterproof gloves, goggles with both low-light and high-light lenses, sunglasses, a balaclava or neck warmer, a beanie, and a helmet. Guests must bring their own snowboarding equipment for the tour, including board, boots, bindings, and outerwear. Not sure what gear to bring? Just ask when booking—we’re happy to recommend the right board and setup for the conditions in Whitefish.

WHO WILL BE ON MY TOUR?

Your group will be made up of travelers from a mix of backgrounds and age groups. Most people join solo, and everyone is here for the same reason—to ride, learn, and explore. Groups tend to click quickly thanks to the shared love of snowboarding and the excitement of discovering a new destination together.
