For the first time ever, Nitro CAMP GOOD TIMES lands in Japan
For over a decade, Camp Good Times has been Nitro Snowboards’ way of bringing riders together to share snow, stories, and stoke. It’s become a tradition built on community, creativity, and connection, and in 2026, the camp is heading to Japan. Mint is stoked to be hosting the first ever Camp Good Times Japan with Nitro Snowboards. A week of deep snow, quiet resorts, playful parks, local culture, and a tight-knit crew riding, filming, and hanging out together.
You’ll be on snow with Nitro Snowboards riders Torgeir Bergrem, Griffin Siebert, Mateo Massitti, and Knut Eliassen, along with Mint guides making sure every day is dialed. Expect storm days in the trees, park laps with the pros, and the chance to test the latest Nitro Snowboards all week with the demo fleet on hand.
When the lifts stop spinning, the camp vibe keeps rolling. The base hotel has everything to keep the crew connected: indoor and outdoor onsen, a bar with a big screen, pool table, table tennis, darts, karaoke, and plenty of space for movie nights, Nitro Snowboards product sessions, and swapping stories late into the night. Nearly everything’s included, from accommodation, breakfasts and dinners, lift tickets, daily transport, media package, and guiding, so you can just show up ready to ride. Add in Japan’s incredible food, culture, and hospitality, and you’ve got the perfect backdrop for the first ever Camp Good Times Japan.

Camp Good Times
Trip Essentials & the Need-to-Know info.
Camp Good Times Format
Camp Good Times is all about chasing the best snow each day with the Nitro crew and Mint guides. From our lakeside onsen base we’ve got quick access to resorts like Nekoma, and Alts Bandai, and a few secret spots that stay off most people’s radar. Each morning the crew loads up the vans and heads to where conditions are firing, whether that’s storm laps in the trees, untouched pow stashes, or a day lapping the terrain park. With Mint’s local knowledge tracking the storms, the Nitro crew riding alongside, and a media team capturing it all, every day feels like a session with friends. The format is simple, score the best snow, and keep the good times rolling on and off the mountain.
Nearly All-Inclusive Tour
Nearly everything is included to make Camp Good Times Japan a stress-free trip. You’ll stay in a lakeside onsen hotel close to the resorts, with buffet breakfasts and dinners included. Daily resort transport is covered with private 4WD vans, and all lift tickets are included. Mint guides are on hand all week, along with Nitro Snowboards riders and the full demo fleet. We’ll also pick you up and drop you off from the train station on arrival and departure day, so all you need to do is show up ready to ride.
Snow & Conditions
February is the heart of winter in Japan and the perfect time for Camp Good Times. Storms roll through regularly, stacking up new snow that’s often ankle to knee deep, and on the bigger days, much more. Even if there’s no fresh overnight, the combination of uncrowded resorts and local knowledge means you’ll still be riding fresh lines, pow stashes, and tree runs all week. It’s not just about pow, though, Aizu has one of the best terrain park setups in Japan, so you can throw in some park laps to round things out. Add in no lift lines, the variety of terrain, and lapping every day with the Nitro crew, and you’ve got the perfect conditions for a true Camp Good Times week.
Accommodation
The base for Camp Good Times Japan is a remote lakeside onsen hotel surrounded by mountains. Every guest gets their own western-style single room with a private ensuite , plenty of space to relax and recharge after riding. The hotel’s natural onsen is the highlight, with indoor and outdoor baths perfect for recovery. Each morning starts with a buffet breakfast, and each evening the crew comes together for a buffet dinner made with local produce. After riding, the hotel bar keeps the good times rolling with icy cold beers on tap, pool table, darts, a golf simulator, and plenty of space for media nights, Nitro product sessions, and hanging out with the crew.
Camp Good Times Location
Hop on the Bullet Train in Tokyo and in just over three hours you’ll be in Aizu, the home of Camp Good Times Japan. This region is stacked with resorts, famous for deep powder, natural onsen, and rich local culture. With hardly any crowds and little western influence, it feels truly off the radar, which is exactly what makes it special. Our base is a small lakeside village with easy access to surrounding resorts including Nekoma and Alts Bandai.
Pre-Trip Support
We’ve got you covered before you even pack. Once you’re locked in for Camp Good Times, you’ll get pre-trip emails with everything you need to know, including tour details, travel tips, packing lists, and how to get to Aomori. We’ll break down all the options, whether you’re taking the Shinkansen from Tokyo or flying straight into Aomori Airport. Got a question? Our tour managers are just a quick call away. And since we’re travel pros, we can help with the rest too, like insurance, stopovers, or adding on a few extra days before or after the tour. Safety First
Every day starts with a check-in on weather and snowpack so we know exactly what’s happening out there. Our terrain choices are backed by experience and planning, not guesswork, and the focus is always on keeping the crew safe while finding the best lines.
Full-Service Support
Mint isn’t just about running tours, we help make your whole trip easier. From pre-departure advice to stopovers, extra nights, and support on the ground in Japan, we’re here before, during, and after your trip to make sure everything runs smooth.
Day 1 – Sunday ‘Arrival Day’
Welcome to Aizu and welcome to Camp Good Times Japan. Your journey kicks off at Koriyama Station, where the Mint guides will be waiting to load up the vans for the drive to our frozen lakeside onsen hotel. After checking in, unpack, dial in your gear, and settle into your huge single room. In the evening, meet up with the Nitro crew — Torgeir Bergrem, Griffin Siebert, Mateo Massitti, and Knut Eliassen, along with the Mint guides and the rest of the campers in the hotel bar for the official welcome session. We’ll cover the plan for the week, check the storm forecast, do a gear rundown, and of course crack a few cold ones. Then it’s straight into our first buffet dinner together, the perfect way to meet the crew you’ll be riding and hanging with all week.
Day 2 to 6 – Monday to Friday ‘On-Snow Guided Days’
Get ready for five full days of Camp Good Times Japan. There’s no rigid schedule here, every day is about chasing the best snow and riding where it’s stacking. The Mint guides are on storm watch 24/7, dialing in the plan so the crew is always in the right spot. With a bunch of resorts within 10–30 minutes of our base, we’ll load up the vans and roll out to wherever’s firing. Here’s roughly what you can expect each day:
Morning
Start the day with a big buffet breakfast, then load up the vans around 8:00–8:30 am, depending on which resort we’re hitting. The Mint guides are always tracking storms and snow, so each day we’ll roll out to the spot that’s stacking. Across the week you’ll get a taste of Aizu’s variety, but the mission is simple – head where the snow is best and keep the good times rolling.
On Snow
You’ll spend full days riding with the Nitro crew – Torgeir Bergrem, Griffin Siebert, Mateo Massitti and Knut Eliassen, alongside Mint guides. Some days it’s storm laps in the trees when the snow is stacking, other days it’s mobbing a line with the crew, or sunny days just lapping the park together.
The vibe on snow is fast and fun — riding as a crew, stacking clips, and feeding off each other’s energy. Sometimes the session pauses mid-run to get a photo or film a clip, but it’s always about riding together and making the most of whatever Japan delivers that day.
With the Nitro demo fleet on hand, you’ll also get the chance to ride what the team rides, swapping boards throughout the week in Japan’s famous conditions. And with Mint’s media team documenting it all, every run has the potential to end up in the week’s highlight reel. The mix of pow, park, crew energy, and media makes the on-snow part something way beyond a regular tour.
Afternoon
Depending on the crew’s vibe, afternoons might mean soaking in a local onsen, sampling sake at a nearby brewery, checking out Aizu’s culture and history, or just grabbing some local snacks from 7-Eleven before heading back to the hotel.
Evening
Back at the hotel, the natural onsen is the go-to recovery session before regrouping for buffet dinner with the crew. Afterwards, the camp vibe takes over. Movie nights, Nitro product sessions, bar hangs, pool, darts, and plenty of stories with Torgeir, Grif, Mateo, and Knut. On the final night, we’ll wrap it all up with a screening of the highlight reel from the week — the perfect send-off .
Day 7 – Saturday ‘Departure Day’
One last buffet breakfast, maybe one final soak in the onsen, then it’s time to say goodbye. We’ll load up the vans for your transfer back to Koriyama Station after a week of pow, parks, onsen, and some serious good times. You’ll leave with new friends and memories from the first ever Camp Good Times Japan.
Before You Book
What Is Camp Good Times Japan?
It’s Nitro Snowboards’ way of bringing riders together to hang, and share the good times. For the first time ever, the camp is heading to Japan. Hosted in Aizu, you’ll spend the week riding with the Nitro crew and Mint guides, exploring different resorts, chasing pow, lapping terrain parks, and soaking in the full Japan experience. Add in a Nitro demo fleet, nightly hangs, and a media crew capturing the whole thing, and it’s way more than a regular snowboard trip.
How Far In Advance Do I Need To Book?
This is a one-off event with limited spots. Once it’s full, it’s full. We strongly recommend booking early to secure your place, as this camp is expected to sell out well before the 60-day cut-off.
What’s the Average Age of Campers?
These trips attract a wide mix of riders. We’ve had guests in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond — the common thread is a love of snowboarding and good times, not age. The camp is designed to be inclusive and welcoming, whether you’re traveling solo or with friends. If you’re stoked to ride and hang with the crew, you’ll fit right in.
How Do I Check My Ability Level?
This is for intermediate to advanced snowboarders who are comfortable riding ungroomed terrain, powder, and trees. If you’re not sure if it’s right for you, chat with our team and we’ll help confirm.
Can I Extend My Trip?
Yes! If one week isn’t enough, you can extend your trip by linking it with another Mint tour. Many of our guests combine Aizu with Myoko Explorer Tour, Morioka Explorer Tour, Aomori Freeride Tour, Otaru Freeride Tour, or Asahikawa Freeride Tour. All of these are easy to reach by train or domestic flight, and multi-tour booking discounts apply: book 2 tours and get $100 off, book 3 tours and get $200 off.
What’s Included
Are Lift Tickets Included?
Yes — your 5-day lift ticket is included in the package.
What’s Included in the Camp?
Pretty much everything: 6 nights in a single room at our lakeside onsen hotel, 5 days riding with the Nitro crew and Mint guides, 5-day lift ticket, access to the Nitro Snowboards demo fleet, 6 buffet breakfasts and dinners, private daily transport to resorts, a post-trip highlight edit, and tour hosting from the Mint crew.

We try to make Camp Good Times as all-inclusive as possible — your meals, transport, lift tickets, guiding and video are all covered. The only extras are a few personal costs like lunches, snacks, drinks, and optional activities.
Budgeting For The Tour
Here’s what you’ll want to budget for extras: 6 lunches at around USD 10–15 per meal, one or two onsen visits outside the hotel at USD $3–7 per visit, an optional karaoke night at around USD 10, and extra snacks, drinks, or meals not listed.
On Tour
What Happens On Arrival and Departure Day?
Arrival and departure days are travel days. On Sunday, we’ll meet you at Koriyama Station and transfer you to the hotel. That evening we kick off with a welcome session and group dinner. Riding runs Monday to Friday. On Saturday, after breakfast and checkout, we’ll transfer you back to Koriyama Station for your onward journey.
Can I Arrive Early or Stay Longer?
Yes. If you’d like to arrive before the camp or stay after, we can help arrange extra nights in Tokyo or at the camp hotel, subject to availability.
What If I’m Traveling Solo?
Perfect, most of our campers are. Every guest gets their own private single room, so you’ve got space to recharge after riding. The camp setup means you’ll still be part of the crew 24/7 — riding, eating, hanging, and watching films together.
Can I Share a Room With a Friend or Partner?
Every guest has their own single room as standard. If you’re traveling with a friend or partner and prefer to share a twin room, let us know when booking and we’ll confirm availability.
How Many People In My Group?
On snow, you’ll ride in small groups of typically 6 campers, with Mint guides, plus the Nitro crew in the mix.
Which Resorts Will We Visit?
The camp has a flexible format. We’ll hit whichever resort has the best conditions on the day. Our base is within 10 to 30 minutes of a variety of resorts, including Nekoma and Alts Bandai, plus a few local spots we keep off the map.
What Are the Snow Conditions Like in February?
February is the heart of winter in Japan. Expect regular storms bringing ankle to knee-deep snow, and on the bigger days, much more. Even when it doesn’t snow overnight, uncrowded resorts and local knowledge mean you’ll still be riding fresh lines all week.
Do I Need to Be Super Fit?
You don’t need to be an athlete, but a solid base level of fitness helps you enjoy long powder runs, tree riding, and park laps without burning out. Expect full days on snow with plenty of breaks. It’s all about keeping the energy high and the good times rolling.
Do I Need To Ride Park To Join?
Not at all. Aizu has one of Japan’s best terrain park setups, and lapping the park with the Nitro crew is always an option, but there’s zero pressure. Whether you’re all about pow stashes, tree runs, or park laps, the camp is about riding together and feeding off the crew’s energy.
Travel and Logistics
Do I Need Cash in Japan?
Yes. Japan is still a cash-based country. Bring some yen for lunches, snacks, and small purchases, as many local restaurants and shops don’t accept cards. ATMs are available at convenience stores if you need to withdraw more during the week.
Do I Need to Speak Japanese?
No. All guides and hotel staff speak English, and we’ll help with any local interactions. That said, learning a few basics like arigato (thank you) or sumimasen (excuse me) is always appreciated by locals.
How Do I Take the Bullet Train?
The Shinkansen, or bullet train, from Tokyo to Koriyama Station is fast, easy, and comfortable. The ride takes about 90 minutes. Once you arrive, your Mint guide will meet you at the station and handle the transfer to the hotel. We’ll provide full instructions on how to book tickets and where to go in your Pre-Departure Guide.
Are Flights Included?
No, flights are not included. Once you book, our team can recommend the best flight and train options to match your arrival and departure times.
Do I Need Travel Insurance?
Yes, travel insurance is required and must cover snowsports, medical, accident, and emergency evacuation. We also recommend cover for cancellation, trip interruption, and luggage.
What Happens Once I’ve Booked?
You’ll be assigned a Mint tour manager who’ll be your go-to for any pre-trip questions. Around 90 days before departure, you’ll receive the full Pre-Departure Guide with everything you need to prepare. You’ll also complete a digital waiver and info form. Once the camp kicks off, we’ll add you to the WhatsApp group for all updates and stoke during the week.
Gear and Safety
Can I Rent Equipment?
Bring your own snowboard gear for the week, that’s your main setup. We’ll also have a Nitro Snowboards demo fleet on hand, so you can take different boards out for a spin during the camp. Just keep in mind the demos are for testing, not to use full-time, and you’ll need to use your own bindings on them.
What Equipment Should I Bring?
Pack all your own snowboard gear for the week. A pow-friendly board is recommended, plus your own bindings, boots, and outerwear. If you’d like to mix things up, you’ll be able to test boards from the Nitro demo fleet — just remember you’ll need your own bindings for those. We’ll send you a full gear list after booking.
Safety and Helmets
Helmets are strongly recommended for all riders. Avalanche safety equipment is not required for this camp, as we’ll be riding in-bounds at resorts.
Weather Flexibility
Japan’s winter weather can impact transport or resort operations. Our team monitors conditions daily and adjusts plans as needed to make sure you’re in the best possible spot to ride.
Accommodation and Food
Where Do We Stay?
The base is a remote 3-star onsen hotel, set beside a frozen lake and surrounded by mountains. Every guest gets their own large, modern, western-style single room with a private ensuite, TV, and WiFi with plenty of space to relax and recharge after riding. The hotel has indoor and outdoor natural onsen, a small convenience store, a bar with icy cold beers on tap, pool table, darts, a golf simulator, karaoke rooms, and plenty of space for hanging with the crew. It’s the perfect balance of comfort, relaxation, and good times.

Can You Cater for Dietary Requirements?
Meals are buffet-style with a wide range of Japanese and Western options, so most dietary preferences can be managed by choosing what suits you best. The hotel doesn’t cater specifically to dietary requirements or allergies, so if you have strict needs, we recommend bringing a few of your own snacks or essentials to be safe.
