Go backcountry snowboarding in Northern Norway this April.

For Spring 2024, we’ve scheduled a unique backcountry week based at Lyngen, in Northern Norway and hosted by our local backcountry guides.

The Lyngen Alps Backcountry Tour is suitable for most ability levels and is a great way to learn how to ride safely through alpine terrain either on snowboards with snowshoes, splitboards or touring skis.  We also have Ilahu Pow Surf boards available to ride throughout the camps and if you’re new to backcountry touring, we have rental options available via local retailers.

Whether you are looking to progress your powder riding skills or just eager to discover a few secret spots in the Nordic backcountry, Lyngen Alps Backcountry Tour is for you.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT EACH DAY?
Both programs offer you the best opportunity to ride deep, nordic powder and advance your alpine skills. Our experienced guides have an in-depth knowledge of the areas, which gives you the ultimate advantage when chasing deep, un-tracked snow. We’ll aim to ski tour, hike and and ride a lot of powder, glades and high alpine terrain. Of course weather and conditions are impossible to predict so guests must be prepared to ride or ski anything.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ON THIS TOUR?
Between 8 to 16 persons per camp with a guide to guest ratio of 1:6. We know that by offering one of the smallest client to guide ratio in the industry allows you to ski or snowboard at your preferred pace, and ultimately leads to a better experience for everyone. This ensures you get the most out of your time with us, and keeping the groups small means less time waiting and more time riding powder.

ARE THESE CAMPS/TOUR RIGHT FOR ME?
These camps and tour are best suited to skiers and snowboarders who can link turns in groomed slopes and also for ones that can also handle riding powder. If you’re not sure, give us a call. If you have never ridden in powder or shy away from it at your local resort, this is the tour to learn. We have 3-4 guides so we can divide the groups with skill and condition level.

WHICH HILLS/FELLS/RESORTS WILL WE VISIT?
