Here's your chance to ride at the legendary Baldface Lodge in winter 2021

Join us for our 10 day Kootenay program including 4 days snowboarding and skiing at the famous Baldface Lodge along with a Whitewater and Red Mountain warm-up with local Mint guides.

Just watch any of the video parts from Baldface and you’ll see how this place has gained it’s legendary status in the snowboard world. While at Baldface we are led by qualified backcountry guides who are there to help you choose the best lines to ride. All meals and safety equipment are provided at Baldface.

To get those legs pumping we also check out two of our favourite BC ski areas; Red Mountain and Whitewater. These resorts play host to an enormous amount of freeride terrain with bowls, cliffs, pillows and tree runs all located in-bounds. For those wanting to explore the Kootenay backcountry and have the experience and equipment, our guides will offer an optional upgrade touring service.

If you’re the type of skier or snowboarder who doesn’t like to stray too far off the groomers then this tour is not for you. Our guests can expect deep turns and non stop face shots! Come join us for this once in a lifetime snowboard trip, you won’t regret it.

ABOUT BALDFACE

With 32,000 acres of ridable terrain, you can be assured of scoring some epic untracked turns. Each day you can expect to ride 15,000 vertical feet with the snow cat access. Lunch is provided each day and dinners will be prepared nightly by the chefs at the lodge. After riding, head back to the lodge for appies and drinks at the bar. After an epic 4 days we will depart our lodge and fly back to Nelson via helicopter.

ABOUT WHITEWATER

This mountain gets rave reviews around the world for it’s terrain and snow. With the highest lift topping out at 2045 metres and consistent storms cycles slamming into BC from the Pacific it’s no surprise that this place scores over 12 metres of blower pow each season. It’s common to get deep turns throughout the season and for this reason we keep coming back to Whitewater.

ABOUT RED MOUNTAIN

Red offers steeps, open trees, powder meadows and groomers on 360-degrees of exposure, so you’ll be able to find good snow regardless of the time of year. One of the main reasons to ride at Red is the backcountry access. The resort operates 16 square kilometres of touring-accessed, uncontrolled backcountry. The resort has a long tradition of allowing people to ride where they want.

ACCOMMODATION

Accomodation throughout the tour is twin share including at Baldface Lodge. Nelson accommodation is based at the centrally located Prestige Lakeside which is a 4 star hotel and equipped with great facilities including a hot tub and pool. All meals are included at Baldface lodge

SNOW & CONDITIONS

The tour is scheduled in peak season for consistent, cold and deep snowfall with temperatures around -10 - -3 celsius. Expect terrain ranging from open bowls, sustained steep forests, mid-alpine tree sections, and natural terrain features like log drops and mini-pipe gullies.
