Your guide, Mitch Williams has an in-depth knowledge of the local area, so he’ll hunt down the best conditions for the group on any given day. Not to mention that he knows where all the secret powder stash’s are. We are based in Myoko for this 8 night tour, checking out the best in-bounds terrain, park set-up’s and side-country on offer and the highlight is a backcountry day with our qualified local backcountry guide. For the backcountry day, we get off the beaten path and ride at one of Nagano or Niigata’s best kept secrets. You’re virtually guaranteed freshies. Our qualified guide is a Nagano local and not only knows the commercial resorts, he also has years of experience as a patroller and backcountry guide in this region. We keep ‘BC’ day itinerary flexible so we can ride at the resort or ski area with the best conditions on the day. Terrain is varied and access to areas can range from short bootpacks to longer hikes accessed by snow shoes or splitboards. This tour is running at the peak of Japan’s snow season, so be prepared. The consistent storms bring massive quantities of light, dry powder snow to this region. Myoko topped Japan’s snowfall tally last season with over 16 metres! With stats like this, powder is virtually guaranteed.
