Alts Bandai is possibly the best value and most underrated resort in Japan. Whether you’re into cat skiing, riding perfect park, side country or shredding untouched corduroy it has something for every rider. From ‘Alts’ you can access the neighbouring resort of Nekoma with a dual mountain lift pass giving you access to over 200 hectares of shred-able terrain.
Alts Bandai was home to the legendary Nippon Burton Open for many years so management understands snowboarding and still maintains one of the best terrain parks in the country. The area also scores light dry Japan pow and when it snows (which is often) the in-bounds tree riding is amazing. ‘Alts’ is also home to crazy affordable cat ski packages which operate from the out the front of it’s 4 star hotel. If you have a few days up your sleeve, it’s an easy trip from Tokyo and definitely worth checking out.
