THE ULTIMATE SNOWBOARD AND SKI ADVENTURE IN KAMCHATKA, RUSSIA
Join us as we head back to the land of volcanoes, hot springs, geysers and blue bird powder days in Kamchatka, Russia.
Kamchatka is about a nine-hour flight east of Moscow, somewhat northeast of Japan and just across the Bering Strait from Alaska. It is a vast and untamed wilderness full of hot springs and volcanoes, some extinct, some dormant and many still active. Known as the ‘Land of Fire and Ice’ due to the hundreds of volcanoes, geysers and glaciers, Kamchatka is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as “one of the most outstanding volcanic regions in the world”.
Our tour includes 8 helicopter hours which works out to about 3 to 4 full days of heli-skiing and snowboarding. We’ll ride through hot spring valleys, to the shores of the Pacific Ocean and into active volcano craters. For any weather days, our heli-ski operation is backed up by snowmobile access to limit down-time.
This fully hosted tour is based at the Snow Valley Lodge which boasts natural thermal hot springs on-site and includes all meals for the week including an incredible snow crab feast on our final night of the tour. We have limited availability and always sell out months in advance.

Kamchatka is located on the Bering Strait but only 1600 kms north from Hokkaido meaning it scores similar 'Japan like' powder. When the storms roll in we head for the trees
Our accommodation includes natural thermal hot spring pools right at our doorstep along with traditional Russian steam room and saunas. In the evenings you'll sample local produce like Baltic Sea crab and caviar

Located at the far eastern part of Russia, the 472,000 square km Kamchatka Peninsula is home to only 300,00 people making it one of the most remote places on Earth. The Kamchatka Heli Tour starts from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski the main entry point to Kamchatka from Moscow or Vladivostok. From here we drive for 30kms (via a local fish market) to our base at Snow Valley.
The Kamchatka Heli Tour includes 8 helicopter hours (around 5 full days of riding) totalling 25,000 vertical metres with extra vertical purchased once the limit has been reached. The terrain we ride is suited to intermediate to strong skiers and snowboarders with powder experience. Expect wide open slopes, some steeper pitches and an abundance of natural halfpipes to slash.
SNOW & CONDITIONS
Bitterly cold Arctic winds from Siberia combined with the
Ohotskoe Sea currents create storms that dump snow from October through late July (March is considered winter) with temperatures ranging from -5 to -15 celsius at nights. Snow storms happen once per 10-12 days so we are usually skiing and snowboarding powder on northern aspects and corn snow on southern aspects.
Throughout the tour we stay at Snow Valley Mountain Lodge, on the Kamchatka Peninsula, at the foot of Vilyuchinsky volcano. It’s a comfortable and modern heli-ski lodge, with all the amenities that you’d expect including, free wifi, hot springs, cinema, Russian bathhouse, ski lift, snowmobiles, ATV’s, restaurant and unique Russian service.
When we are on mountain, we keep our group size to a maximum of 6 people per guide for a more personal experience between our guests and guides. This ensures you get the most out of your time with us, and keeping the groups small means less time waiting and more time riding powder.
After you sign up for a tour, you will receive pre-trip emails with specific information about your tour, the arrival and departure day process, information about the destination, packing suggestions, and other relevant information to help you prepare for your trip. In addition to this, you have access to our customer care team who are just a phone-call away. And as a full-service travel agent, we are able to take care of your flights, insurance, stopovers and pre or post tour arrangements.
