On this gravity-fed tour we visit two of the best purpose-built mountain bike parks in the region – Falls Creek & Mystic Park Bright. 2 huge days of shuttles are included which offer some serious lap smashing potential! FRIDAY TO SUNDAY
Join us for a weekend in North East Victoria's High Country. Arrive after work on a Friday and get ready to spend the next 2 days smashing some serious vertical as our local guides show you why this region has the rep of being Australia's premiere MTB destination. On Friday night our guides will be on-hand to greet you and help you settle in. On Sunday, our tour concludes in Bright. Extra nights accommodation and riding are always on offer.
WHAT BIKE TO BRING
If you could bring any bike, it would be a long travel enduro bike that can handle the gnarliness of the bike parks, yet pedal to the surrounding backcountry trails if that's your thing. If you are trying to decide what bike to bring, keep in mind that the bike parks all have terrain that warrants a bike that can handle steep trails, rocks and jumps which will take you and your bike to the edge. You'll also need a full-face helmet, knee pads, elbow pads and gloves. Ask us for a full gear list or to arrange rentals
ABILITY & FITNESS
This tour is open to riders of all ability levels. Each day your guides will give helpful pointers on any questions you may have. Probably the most important aspect of mountain biking is the willingness to sharpen your skills. If you're comfortable riding singletrack then this tour will be suitable. If you don’t quite have the fitness to tackle some of the big ascents, don't worry. You've got 2 days of gravity shuttles to take you back to the top after each descent.
Throughout the tour you'll stay in a modern motel with bike friendly facilities that is centrally located in Bright. Our comfortable single share rooms are equipped with King beds, private ensuite bathroom, TV, and free WiFi. This cycle friendly motel has dedicated bike wash bay, bike maintenance bench with pump, and custom-built, fully-enclosed bike security shed with individually-lockable racks.
Throughout the tour, you'll travel in comfortable transport with a bike trailer and rack system made exclusively for mountain bike adventure touring. You'll only need to build your bike once on arrival day, as we'll transport your equipment between each destination so that they are set up and ready to ride.
This tour is hosted by our local MTB team. Not only do they know every marked trail, they are looking forward to showing you some of their ‘local’s only’ secret spots. Their big mountain experience makes them the perfect hosts for the weekend. They are always more than happy to provide you with some tips and feedback on the mountain, and share a beer and some laughs at the end of the day.
Bright Hero Trail
Ride the Hero Trail at Mystic. The first trail of this kind on this scale in Australia, the new Hero Trail at Bright is revolutionary for the Australian scene. It’s a proper, gravity-fed jump trail, and you clock some serious air miles on this one! Your mind will be blown as you literally fly down the hill, all the way back to the Bright Brewery by the river below.
10km Gravity Trail
Falls Creek boasts an unbroken 10km gravity trail linking up stand-outs High Voltage, Wishing Well and the brand new Flowtown. All up this is a 525m descent and takes in awesome terrain with berms, jumps and flowing built features all the way from the Summit to the Ticket Box.
Australia's MTB Mecca
Bright is a mountain biker’s paradise in its own right, but when you bundle Mystic and Mt Beauty up together in our Shuttle Weekend, you’ve got something truly incredible.
At the end of every ride, there’s always beer – and few do it better than Bright Brewery, owned by a local mountain biker who knows how to make cyclists welcome.
