Located in central Hokkaido, Tomamu has all the bells and whistles of a luxury ski resort but with the added bonus of receiving some of the lightest and direst powder snow in Hokkaido. Tomamu is a freeride heaven with advanced and expert level tree-riding (off-piste riding allowed!). Take it up a notch and head into the backcountry on a cat ski day where powder stashes are a-plenty. This no-expense spared purpose build resort area is perfect for a 5 night stay and has everything you’ll need including countless restaurants, tubing, ice fishing, dog sledding, adventure terrain park, and even an incredible wave pool. Despite its grandeur appearance, the resort has remained relatively unknown over recent years, so avoid the crowds and head to Tomamu for some incredible pow turns.
Situated on the northern island of Hokkaido is the lesser-known ski area, Tomamu. It’s a luxury, ski-in/ski-out resort that is home to some of the best powder on Earth. If this place isn’t on your powder radar, then it should be. Tomamu is synonymous with the having some of the lightest, direst powder in Central Hokkaido.
While Tomamu receives 10 metres of snow in an average season, the legendary snowfall doesn’t mean you have to be an experienced skier or snowboarder to enjoy it. Quite the opposite. There are plenty of moderately pitched powder lines, and many areas that are left un-groomed that are perfect to level up. Tomamu has the advantage over other resorts as they have designated side country and tree riding areas within the resort boundary that are patrolled, along with a wide open section that is left un-groomed just for you to ride pow. These areas are perfect to get your lift accessed powder fill.
So you can spend your week deep in the white-room, you’ve got two guides on-hand who know a thing or two about hunting down the best lines, finding the best snow, and making sure you have a good time while doing it. They are always more than happy to provide you with some tips and feedback on the mountain, and share a beer and some laughs at the end of the day.
We offer one of the smallest client to guide ratio’s in the industry which ultimately leads to a better experience for everyone. Our small groups allow greater manoeuvrability and ease of access to the best areas a destination can offer. When we are on mountain, our guest to guide ratio is 6 people per guide. This also makes for a more personal experience between our guests and guides.
CAT SKI ADD-ON
The best way to access a blissful day of untracked powder is by snow cat. Each run delivers 450-650m of vertical. The cat ski operation is just a short drive from Tomamu and you will get to spend a full day riding untracked powder. It’s a place so beautiful, you’ll get the experience of a lifetime.
COMFORTABLE 4 STAR ACCOMMODATION
Throughout the tour you’ll stay on-mountain at Tomamu, The Tower. This is a 4 star hotel with ski-in, ski-out access to the region’s best powder. On-site are a hot spring, indoor wave pool, fitness centre and shops, plus a he range of restaurants. You’ll stay in a twin share room that is equipped with 2 single beds that will have you feeling zen in no time. Each room has a great heating, private ensuite bathroom, TV, and free WiFi. Every morning you’ve got a hot buffet breakfast to enjoy in the restaurant and a dinner voucher is provided to use at the restaurants.
EASY AIRPORT TRANSFERS
What we like about Tomamu is it’s so easy to get to. It’s a stress-free trip, especially if you’re travelling solo or it’s your first time to Japan. Once your flight arrives in Sapporo, grab your bags and get on the bus. It’s a scenic door-to-door trip, from the airport straight to our hotel. Grab a window seat and in just under 1.5 hours you will arrive at our powder paradise. Our guides will be on-hand to greet you and help you settle in.

This is a 5 night tour starting on the 9th of February and finishing on the 14th of February, 2020. The price per person is AUD $1995. Guests stay in a twin share room (2 beds per room). If you are travelling solo, we will match you with another solo traveller to room with. Single rooms supplements may be available and are subject to availability at time of booking. If you would like a quote in your local currency, please contact us. To secure a spot on tour we take an AUD $700 deposit per person, and the final balance is due 90 days prior to the tour departure.

What happens on arrival and departure day?
Once you’ve signed up for the tour we will send you through a comprehensive guide with details about the tour including the arrival and departure day process, a map of where we meet, recommended arrival and departure times, flight options, Visa requirements and transportation information.
What if i’m travelling solo?
About 99% of our guests are travelling solo. The accommodation for this tour is twin share i.e. 2 beds per room. If you are travelling solo, you will be paired with another guest to room with. If you’d prefer your own room please request a single room at time of booking.
Do you ever cancel a tour?
No! Once you’ve signed up for this tour, you’re going! We won’t ever cancel this trip due to low numbers, so you can go ahead and book your flights early and rest easy knowing you’re going.
How many people are on tour?
Each tour is different, but we know that by offering one of the smallest client to guide ratio in the industry allows you to ski or snowboard at your preferred pace, and ultimately leads to a better experience for everyone. When we are on mountain, we have a maximum of 6 people per guide. This ensures you get the most out of your time with us, and keeping the groups small means less time waiting and more time riding powder!

What happens if I need to cancel?
Got cold feet? Couldn’t find a good flight or get the time off work? Cancel up to 7 days after your initial booking and get 100% of your deposit back, no questions asked.
