AOMORI SPRING

Japan Snowboard Tours

If you’re looking for epic Japanese powder and a cultural experience to match, head off the beaten path to Aomori Springs. Located in the Northernly most part of the Tohoku Region of Honsu, Aomori (aka Ajigasawa Resort) is not the largest or most popular ski destination, however, this also means a more traditional feel to your snow trip – and no crowds! Boasting up to 13 metres of snowfall each season, there’s plenty of fresh powder to explore. Its North-facing slopes also means the snow is kept in a pristine light and dry condition – just how we like it! The majority of intermediate and advanced terrain is off-piste, with perfectly spaces tree runs, and virtually no competition for freshies. For those wanting to earn their turns, a short hike up to the top of Mt Iwaki (700m above the resort area), opens up endless opportunities for powder turns. The resort is also home to a full size half pipe (home to the Aomori Spring Pro Camp). There is no village at the base of the slopes so nightlife is typically quiet, however, the resort is close to nearby resorts like Hakkoda, so perfect for a stop on your Japanese road-trip!
