WHISTLER HELI TOUR

March 08, 2017 to March 13, 2017
$3299 PER PERSON
Whistler is without a doubt one of the top places in the world to ski and snowboard. The two side-by-side resorts of Whistler and Blackcomb provide over 8,000 acres of linked skiable terrain to explore, and alongside 16 alpine bowls, 3 glaciers, over 200 marked runs, and an average snowfall of almost 12 metres, you start to see how this place earns it’s reputation. On this tour we will spend 3 days exploring the resort before heading into the famed Whistler backcountry for a 4-run Heli day. This is your chance to ride classic, big mountain heli-ski terrain in the heart of BC! We also spend one afternoon on a fully guided Backcountry Snowmobile tour, where you will learn to drive sleds and be let loose into the backcountry terrain. Our accomodation is deluxe twin share at The Listel, based in the centre of Whistler village, within walking distance to lifts, restaurants shops and bars.

Whistler Blackcomb is consistently ranked in the top 10 ski resorts in North America. These 2 side-by-side resorts offer over 8,000 skiable acres and are linked by one of the most advanced lift systems in the world. The terrain varies from long groomers (up to 11km top to bottom) to alpine bowls, trees, chutes and cliffs. There really is something for everyone at Whistler. The average annual snowfall for the past 10 years is almost 12 meters, this makes Whistler one of the snowiest destinations in whole world let alone just North America. Historically March scores the most amount of snow during the season in Whistler and for this reason we run the tour during this period.
Our day will commence with a safety briefing and details on the day by our highly experienced and certified Heli-Ski guides. Once we are ready to go we will load into the helicopters and head out into the backcountry. Whistler Heliski has exclusive tenure to 432,000 acres of terrain with 173 glaciers and 475 different runs to choose from. This huge amount of terrain ensures that you won’t be sharing the runs with anyone other than your group for the day. Backcountry safety equipment is provided to each guest. Included in the day is a picnic lunch out in the backcountry. There is also the option to add extra runs on the day if you feel like 4 isn’t enough and your legs are up to it! A professional photographer accompanies your group and you will have to opportunity to purchase these at the apres session at the end of the day.
We will spend an afternoon learning to ride snowmobiles and checking out some great scenery in the Callaghan Valley. After a safety briefing we will ride out on the windy open trails to the historic NorthAir goldmine site. Here we will have an opportunity to have a burn around in the big open area. This is perfect for first time snowmobilers and you might even find yourself having more fun on the sleds than on the slopes!
The Listel Hotel is located in the heart of Whistler village within walking distance to everything you will need while staying here. Both the Whistler and Blackcomb gondola’s are a short walk from the hotel. The deluxe twin share rooms come with 2 queen beds, tv, ensuite, Wi-Fi, fridge and tea & coffee station. The hotel has a hot tub for guests and there is a restaurant and bar in the hotel.
