WHAT BIKE TO BRING

If you could bring any bike, it would be a long travel enduro bike that can handle the gnarliness of the bike parks, yet pedal to the surrounding backcountry trails. If you are trying to decide what bike to bring, keep in mind that Whistler, Sun Peaks and SilverStar all have terrain that warrants a bike that can handle the steepest trails, rocks and large jumps which will take you and your bike to the edge. You'll also need a full-face helmet, knee pads, elbow pads and gloves. Ask us for a full gear list.

ACCOMMODATION

Throughout the tour you'll stay in modern, 3 to 4 star hotels with bike friendly facilities that are close to the lifts and near all the après action. Our comfortable twin share rooms are equipped with 2 beds, private ensuite bathroom, TV, and free WiFi. All hotels have great facilities including bike valet or storage, wash and tune station, heated outdoor pools or hot tub, laundry and on-site restaurants.

TRANSPORT

Throughout the tour, you'll travel in private transport with a custom-built bike trailer and rack system made exclusively for mountain bike adventure touring. You'll only need to build your bike once on arrival day, as we'll transport your equipment and bike bags between each destination so that they are set up and ready to ride. Our experienced guides make it look easy, transporting you, your bike and luggage to each destination.

ABILITY LEVEL

This tour is open to riders of all ability levels. Each day your guides will give helpful pointers on any questions you may have. Probably the most important aspect of mountain biking is the willingness to sharpen your skills. For riders looking to up-skill, we strongly recommend joining a skills clinic at the start of the tour. You'll get some tips and tricks from a resident pro from the outset, so you're ready to tackle BC's best bike park terrain for the rest of the tour.

LOCAL HOSTS

This tour is hosted by our local Canadian team. Not only do they know every marked trail, they are looking forward to showing you some of their ‘local’s only’ secret spots. Their big mountain experience makes them the perfect hosts for the week. They are always more than happy to provide you with some tips and feedback on the mountain, and share a beer and some laughs at the end of the day.

Highlights

TOP OF THE WORLD

Ride Whistler's iconic trail, Top of the World. A black diamond trail from the top of Whistler Mountain all the way to the GLC patio. This is a lift-serviced trail with over 5,000 vertical feet (1,525m) of descent. What other resort can offer that? No one. That's who.

Highlights

Big, beautiful berms

Everywhere! The trail-building crews at these ever evolving parks, move throughout the forests sculpting perfect berms. And while every bike park has berms, the ones at Whistler particulary are gigantic. And around the corner always lies something special, most notably jumps.

Highlights

Jumps... everywhere

We'd like to know the official count for how many man-made jumps there are in British Columbia's Bike Parks. Thousands? No, it's got to be millions! Whatever the answer, it's more than enough for the most air-addicted rider to be satisfied.

Highlights

UP-SKILL

The best way to progress your skills is by riding more vertical and more terrain. Push yourself by following our guides as they search out the best trails each day. If you want to turbo-charge your progression, joining a skills clinic is the quickest way to to up-skill.

Highlights

Meet the locals

Wildlife sightings, including bears, are not uncommon in the mountains across British Columbia. This includes bike parks. There are roughly 50 black bears in Whistler. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the local wildlife when you’re on the chairlift.

Highlights

OFF THE MOUNTAIN

WHERE WE RIDE

We spend 4 days riding Whistler Bike Park, 3 days riding Sun Peaks Bike Park and 2 days riding SilverStar Bike Park. Here’s what you can expect from each destination:

WHISTLER BIKE PARK
Whistler Bike Park is the biggest and most developed trail network on the planet! 4 days riding Whistler Bike Park won’t be enough to even scratch the surface. You could ride here for 4 years and still find new lines and new trails every day in this ever-evolving bike mecca. The building here is seriously top notch, with perfect radius berms, jumps and trails that are amazingly fun to ride no matter the skill level. As a result of Whistler’s exceptional terrain and building, beginner and advanced riders alike will find themselves improving in ways they didn’t think possible. After a week in Whistler, you’ll gain newfound skills and confidence that you can use to tackle trails twice as hard. The mountain is divided into four zones: Fitzsimmons, Garbanzo, Creekside and Top of the World.

Fitzsimmons begins in Whistler village. This area has many of the famous trails you’ve seen like A-Line. It’s also home to most of the green and blue trails for riders looking to build on their skills and get acclimatised to the park.

Garbanzo or “Garbo” plays host to a long list of technical and flow/jump trails. You won’t find any greens up in this area, but for riders looking to do a bit more advanced riding, Garbo has some top-notch trails, cooler temperatures and shorter lines.

Creekside has a host of blue trails which have a mind-blowing number of berms. If you want to work on your cornering, this is the place to go! Plus this area has a solid selection of technical, rowdy blacks.

Top of the World is pretty much as it sounds. It’s a black diamond trail that comes off the top of the mountain. It offers an incredible view of the surrounding area and is something that is worth doing once.

SUN PEAKS BIKE PARK
It’s no secret that this place is known for its raw, natural steeps, but their trail crew has been hard at work to make Sun Peaks more intermediate friendly. The park offers everything you need to progress, from the skill-building green trails like the aptly named ‘Level Up’, a 9km flow trail taking you from top to bottom. For the intermediate and more advanced rider, 11 blue trails await, including the newly machine built ‘Canada Line’. It has some of the best-linked corners and jumps Sun Peaks has to offer, and rivals the most famous trails from other West coast bike parks. If tech is what you’re after then definitely check out ‘Sugar’, a fast, singletrack trail filled with roots, steeps, and optional jumps for some air time. Sun Peaks offers a truly well-rounded trail network.

SILVERSTAR BIKE PARK
SilverStar is known for well maintained and built fast flowy trails. It has a progressive mix of green, blue and black trails and they have recently expanded their offering for riders who’re on the more advanced side of the spectrum. One of the best features of Silver Star Bike Park’s downhill runs are the dedicated top-to-bottom trails. You won’t find any logging roads or cat roads being used to link trails. The downhill bike park features more than 50 km of dedicated mountain bike trails, over 600 berms and more than 300 jump features and the park’s longest run is 7 km from mountaintop to village.

Tour Dates

Our British Columbia Bike Park Tour is 11 nights. We’ve timed the tour to run just before Crankworx in Whistler which means the trails will be groomed to perfection in anticipation of the world’s best riders arriving in town to throw down at this legendary event. We’ve also ensured that you’ll ride Whistler Bike Park mid-week to avoid the weekend day-trippers. If 11 nights isn’t enough, we can always arrange pre and post trip extensions.

PRO-TIP – GO PRIVATE!
Book this tour as a private departure. You can select your own dates, and you’ll get your own guide and all the benefits of a Mint group tour – for any group, big or small (even just one traveller). Get in touch to discuss.
